Australia

Australia is one of the 7 great land masses of the world. It is considered the 6th biggest country in the world after Russia, Canada, China, USA and Brazil. Although it is the smallest continent. Australia is located in the Southern hemisphere.

The area of Australia is 7, 687, 000 km squared. It's one third of the size of Russia. The longitude of Australia is 35, 308, 00 Degrees S and it's latitude is 149,  124, 5 Degrees E.
                                                                                 

Indigenous Australians 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders were the original people that lived in Australia and the surrounding islands. The Torres Strait Islanders originated from the northern most tip of Queensland near Papua New Guinea.The word "Aboriginal" only applies to the indigenous people who lived in mainland Australia, Tasmania and nearby islands.

Geological Origins

The Indo-Australian Plate is a large crustal plate that includes the continent of Australia and the sub-continent of India. 

Australia has stayed the same as it has had long exposure to weathering and erosion.

It is situated in the middle of the Indo-Australian Plate, therefore Australia has not moved much at all and it does not have any volcanoes.
